We visit Mount Sunflower, the rooftop of Kansas. Located on the Harold Family Ranch in Wallace County, the highest point in Kansas has an elevation of 4,039 feet. The high point has had a relatively uneventful history though the region was ravaged by one of the USA’s worst environmental disasters, the Dust Bowl, in the 1930s. The point is named ironically, as Kansas has a reputation as a flat state. That said, this is still one of the least prominent state highpoints in the country.
