You have to live in a world where our founding document, a contractual agreement between the Crown and Māori, doesn't exist to hint at Māori not having space at the table in decision making.
In the 1840s the agreement allowed the Crown to the table and just because the population has changed proportionally that doesn't mean the agreement should be shredded and/or changed out.
