“l am very happy and proud to share with you video of my meeting with the First Lady of Democratic Republic of the Congo, H.E. Madam Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, which I am very proud of. We together marked the International Day of Violence against Women and Girls and appointed her as the Ambassador of Merck More than a Mother to work closely together, to build healthcare capacity, break the stigma of Infertility and empower girls through education through our long-term partnership.
This year, we have provided master course in Diabetes for more than 32 Doctors from Democratic Republic of the Congo and also provided five doctors with Fertility specialists and Embryology training.
We are going to provide more specialists with one-year Oncology fellowship in all subspecialties as soon as coronavirus travel restriction is over and of course will scale up by providing more trained doctors in diabetes, fertility and embryology. We have also supported the livelihood of casual workers during coronavirus lockdown.
We will start together supporting 20 high performance and underprivileged school girls to continue their education and reach their potential. I am so happy with the start of our long-term partnership and together we will transform healthcare sector in the country.
Stay tuned to know more about our programs in DR Congo.”
