Portland assemblage artist Willie Little creates work that celebrates his family history in rural North Carolina. “The work is a love letter to my past,” Little says.
His multilayered pieces incorporate charged images from our country’s history, illuminating his personal journey and the nation’s ongoing struggle with racial justice.
Little’s large-scale installation Juke Joint, recreating his father’s nighttime liquor house, is now part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Little is featured in the Portland Art Museum's current exhibition "Black Artists of Oregon" running through March 17, 2024. For more information: [ Ссылка ]
