The weather report looked fantastic, so Yago and I escaped from the Matrix to go climb Mount Saint Helens during the winter.
We camped out at the Marble Mountain Snow Park (Washington Snow Park Pass is required), had some steak and potatoes and tucked into the GoFastCamper for bad sleep. Pro tip, don't park near the vault toilet. There were several other climbers and skiers sleeping in their cars so we got to hear the squeaky door to the toilet all night!
The GoFastCamper did pretty good in the cold, we both had 20 degree sleeping bags. I think a Zero degree bag would be best for winter camping in the camper.
We took off from the trailhead at 7AM and made it to the crater rim at 12:30PM. Crampons were needed, and I would recommend an ice axe also,
I borrowed an ice axe and it slipped from my pack because I failed to properly secure it. If you found a red ice axe on Mount Saint Helens, let me know in the comments!
Thanks for watching.
