I have sort of mixed feelings on this boss. The challenge he puts up can be satisfying to overcome, but since it feels pretty different from the rest of the game I'm not sure it's a totally suitable climax. The Space Harrier style first phase is okay once you get used to it. I've noticed that if you time a dragon attack right as he summons their orbs it will hit him twice. Others have probably noticed that too, but I've never seen it mentioned. I'm not sure if it would be super-useful in high-level play, but I find it pretty satisfying to pull off. The second phase is back to the normal controls, but still doesn't feel like any other fight. Having your movement so restricted, where it's practically a sidescroller, is odd, as is the fact that he mostly attacks by shooting little projectiles. It usually feels fair, but the sudden shift in gameplay makes for an unpleasant difficulty spike rather than a satisfying escalation like with Griffon or Nelo Angelo. Once I got used to it I could enjoy mastering it though, so this fight was quite rewarding in the end. Of course, beating this fight also rewards you with the game's most infamous cutscene, so it's all worth it.
