No it will not throw a code if you remove it. Yes you probably will fail an emissions test if you live in a place that tests for that. No these are not installed on all R3's, for instance, I know the Canadian R3's don't even have the holes drilled into the block that mount the canister. The system basically circulates evaporated gas into the canister or the throttle bodies instead of into the air. You gain no performance, other than the 1 pound 4 ounces in weight reduction. However, if you are going to tune your R3, this is all but required to get accurate readings. If you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comments below and I'll do my best to answer.
