In Unstable Vitiligo we use Medical Management. Along with Medicines there is a strong role of Phototherapy. In the past, we used Sunlight along with Babchi Plant as a Photosensitiser.
Later we recognized Ultraviolet A as very useful for Vitiligo. But UVA had a risk of Skin cancers
Then came Narrow Band Ultra Violet B 310- 315 NM which has less side effects, but is more effective in Vitiligo. It has very little chance of Skin Cancer. It is useful in Vitiligo, Psoriasis, Eczema etc. NBUVB activates Stem Cell and forms Melanocytes

In NBUVB we need 3 sittings per week and results take a few months for results to come

But Now we have latest modality Excimer Laser which is 308-311 nm.

Its results are very fast. Results may come in a few weeks, but it is very expensive treatment. It is useful in Vitiligo, Psoriasis, Alopecia Areata, Eczema
