Give and take. It can never be one way.

There’s a ton of relationship advice circulating around the internet, and while it’s all applicable, I give a lot of credit for my marriage of 22 years being so strong because I watched Mom and Dad respect and openly communicate for 50 years now!

While we were eating lunch in Salt Lake City for a speech I had, I turned to my dad and asked him the secret to a successful and happy long-term partnership is.

He said there are two key ingredients to a great relationship. And, of course, there will be moments when you do argue and disagree, but it’s how you handle them that will tell whether or not you both are truly in it for the long haul.
