Square's hardware jump from Nintendo to Sony in the mid-90s garners a lot of discussion. There's kind of a zietgiest about what Final Fantasy VII might have looked like if it ended up as a Nintendo 64 game. It's fun to watch the old SGI demo with Terra, Locke, and Shadow. Sometimes voices on N64Brew speculate if the PlayStation game could be ported to the Nintendo 64.

Here I've taken a MIDI track from the PC port and compiled it into a Nintendo 64 ROM. SGI's Audio Library utilizes MIDI playback, so the sequence was more or less interchangeable. It's playing with the default compressed soundbank provided by Nintendo (which Squaresoft likely wouldn't have used) via NuSys and the n_audio library.

Hopefully it's a fun listen, and provides a bit of discussion material!
