UNGA: 'India Must Restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir,' says Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif
While addressing the 79th annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session at the New York City, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif criticised the abrogation of Article 370 in India's Jammu and Kashmir. "India must revoke August 5, 2019 actions," Sharif said. The Government of India had revoked the special status to J&K. Sharif also condemned the growing incidents of terrorism in his home country - Pakistan. He blamed "foreign bodies" for providing financial backing to the terror outfits and enabling them to operate in Pakistan. "We have paid a heavy price for defeating terrorists groups in Pakistan. We are now confronted by a new wave of externally financed sponsored terrorism," PM Sharif said. He further spoke about the successful launch of the second phase of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
