This is a decision only what the patients can make. It is not for the surgeon to make. We can reduce any size. Because these are all mathematically calculated to your height to your size, to your body frame work, the way want to look and the way you look currently, these factors come into the size that you want. As surgeons we can reduce it . There is a technique known as Total amputation, where it is entirely removed but that is very drastic and that is not required for 99.99 % of all woman. However reasonable expectation would be to compare yourself to somebody to your similar height, similar weight, same shoulder width, same chest width, preferably of the same ethnic race and if you feel that that is the size that you want then that can be done. On an average in feel that most of the patients are happy with a reduction of 2 to 3 cup sizes. Very rarely do people come asking for amputation. Some of the patients come and ask for it. But when we speak to them and counsel them and realize it is more to do with the discomfort of having heavy chest rather than the size. So we convince them that the small size can maintain the feminity, the look as well as gives us the comfort that they are looking for , they are convinced to go in for a smaller cup size. But finally the cup size if your option. It is a decision that you take. You keep in mind, when you come and discuss the surgery with your plastic surgeon.
