Why do we ruminate?
Our brain (falsely) believes that:
🔹 we are fixing the problem
🔹 we have some control over the situation
🔹 we are learning something with these repetitive thoughts
🔹 we are taking some action
🔹 we can change something
In reality:
🔸 we feel drained after a while from all this overthinking and over-analysing
🔸 no practical solution is found
🔸 we feel terrible about ourselves
🔸 we lose our sleep
🔸 we lose our focus
In order to change that:
1️⃣ we need to observe our thoughts and our thinking patterns
2️⃣ we find what we need to accept about what happened and about ourselves
3️⃣ we remind ourselves of the price we pay for rumination
4️⃣ we practice being in the present moment.
#Mindfulness is a GREAT skill in order to stop rumination.
