I'm Ellie Weehuizen and I am a communications consultant. But what actually is it that I do?

I often get blank looks when I tell my friends and family my job title. I always have to add marketing/promotion/PR to get some sort of understanding. And yes I do all of those things too, but where I feel I add real value is communications strategy. And so often, that's the bit that gets missed.

Even when a business has a marketing or communications plan, there's often some important thinking that hasn't been nailed down. Usually because everyone's rushing to just Get Stuff Done. But without clear planning, you could be wasting your time and effort in areas that won't get you where you need to be.
