This is a tutorial on how to do a L1 or Advanced Beginner Sequence to go from Hip Key, to what I call "Secretary," followed by a pretty little "Bird" shape, and how to get gracefully out.
As always remember when you are practicing Aerial Silks on your own always use a gymnastics mat for safety.
A little bit about my background: My name is Laurie Bloom and I am ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified in both Group Fitness and Personal Training and also have a 200 hour Yoga Certification from Yoga Renew. I toured the world as a dancer when I was younger and now I train Aerial Silks and Contortion as a 43 year old adult. My mantra is: It's Never Too Late! And while it can be harder to learn new skills and train your body to do certain things when you're older, I've seen amazing transformations from people of all ages.
