Welcome to my channel! Today, I'm excited to share a simple yet delicious recipe for Salt Crackers. These crunchy, buttery crackers are perfect for snacking or serving alongside your favorite dips. Let’s get started!
Ingredients (Salt Crackers):
- 100 grams of wholemeal flour = 3/4 cup
- 75 grams of all-purpose flour = 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp
- 5 grams of dried vegetable flakes (optional) = about 1 tbsp
- 8 grams of sugar = about 2 tsp
- 4 grams of salt = about 3/4 tsp
- 60 grams of cold butter = 1/4 cup
- 60 ml of cold water = 1/4 cup
- Extra salt for topping
Prepare the Dough:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine 100 grams of wholemeal flour, 75 grams of all-purpose flour, 8 grams of sugar, and 4 grams of salt.
2. Add the cubed cold butter and rub it into the flour mixture using your fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Slowly pour in 60 ml of cold water and gently bring the dough together by hand without kneading it. Be careful not to overwork the dough.
4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Roll and Bake:
1. Preheat your oven to 392°F (200°C).
2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of 1.5 to 2 mm.
3. Cut the dough into your preferred cracker shapes and sprinkle a little extra salt on top.
4. Place the crackers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-17 minutes, or until they turn golden and crispy.
### Serve and Enjoy:
Once baked, allow the salt crackers to cool before serving. Pair them with cheese, hummus, or any dip of your choice for a delightful snack!
