Del Valle Middle School makes up the middle- school component of a larger K-8 combination campus being constructed with Mission Valley Elementary School.
The 300,000-square-foot, $87 million Mission Valley Elementary/Del Valle Middle K-8 combo school is among the largest projects being funded through YISD’s 2015 voter-approved $430.5 million facilities bond, which is being used to address aging campuses and school improvements, additional safety, and security, and renovate/build new schools.
The new 202,000-square-foot Del Valle Middle School will accommodate students in grades 6-8 from the former Camino Real and Valley View middle schools. The campus features modern classrooms, state-of-the-art technology spaces, and new athletic facilities, and will share core spaces like the kitchen, library, fine arts, and STEM classes with Mission Valley Elementary School, which is slated to open later this year.
