This is the new Alan Wake 2 Update which improves the performance on GPUs that don't support Mesh Shaders, I believe GTX 1070 and 1080s are performing considerably better now. If something got better on these GPUs I'm testing, I can't tell you how much it is better, it is quite similar to the results I used to have.
