At the end of last year, our DSCVR Artist To Watch 2021 series touted 24kGoldn as a dude about to make a dent. The funny thing was, by the time his DSCVR performances of “Mood” and “Coco Chanel” went live, seemingly everyone was already watching him. A catchy collab with his pal Iann Dior, “Mood” was stapled to the top of every chart from Pop to Alt. As the New York Times noted, the joyful Cali kid was the "pandemic pop star." Longtime fans know he ain’t no flash in the pan -- they’ve been boppin’ to Goldn since “Valentino” and “City of Angels.” His 'El Dorado' debut album is now here, and just like its name suggests, it’s full of treasures. He hit our Ctrl studio to perform the turbocharged single “3, 2, 1” and “Love or Lust,” an appealing gem driven by a thumpin’ bassline. Could see him doing these with a full band, but he’s totally cool vibin' alone, a sure sign of a real star in the making.
