Alcohol and opioid addiction is a growing epidemic. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an average of six Americans died of alcohol poisoning every day from 2010 to 2012 -- and the number is even higher for opioid overdoses, which account for 91 deaths each day. At an Advancing Your Health Education Series event on March 27, 2018, a panel of experts from Willowbrooke at Tanner, the Georgia Department of Education, the Carrollton Police Department, Villa Rica Police Department and West Georgia Ambulance, presented eye-opening information then answered numerous audience questions.
