Online Gender Based Violence is a form of violence and abuse of persons on the internet using digital tools and software. Women, girls, and the LGBTQ are by far mostly affected, causing significant harm to their wellbeing and digital safety.
To ensure digital safety, security, and privacy for women and girls and call for urgent actions against this menace, we are raising awareness on the prevalence and high occurrence of harassment and abuse of women and girls in The Gambia online by their abusers, media houses and men on the internet. We have interviewed five victims of this act to amplify their stories and document experiences online.
