Cervical cancer, caused by the sexually transmitted infection HPV (human papillomavirus), is preventable. However, it is alarming that so many women worldwide, especially in India, are still being affected by this disease. In fact, cervical cancer has become the second most common cancer among women in India, despite being largely preventable.
