On October 10th, the new Energy Efficiency Directive came into effect. EU Member States have a two-year window to incorporate the directive's provisions into their national laws. Recognizing the need for support during this transitional period, the Leonardo ENERGY webinar platform, an initiative of the European Copper Institute, has joined forces with the Odyssee-Mure Project and the European Council for an Energy Efficiency Economy (eceee) to launch a new webinar series called the "Energy Efficiency Academy".
The Academy will provide a comprehensive and interactive learning experience on various aspects of energy efficiency, such as policy analysis and evaluation, technologies and solutions, and market developments. The Academy will also foster dialogue and exchange among stakeholders from policy, industry, academia, and civil society.
This opening session features an opening dialogue between Niels Fuglsang, Member of the European Parliament and rapporteur for the Energy Efficiency Directive recast, Claudia Canevari, Head of the Energy Efficiency Unit at the European Commission, and Arianna Vitali Roscini, Secretary General at The Coalition for Energy Savings. Following their opening statements, there is a dialogue with the audience. The webinar is moderated by Diedert Debusscher, Project Manager Clean Energy Transition at the European Copper Institute.
