Transylvania is famous for its ever-present vestiges of the Middle Ages. Local witches consider themselves to be descendants of the blood-thirsty count. In Romanian language, vampires are called strigoi from the Greek "strix", meaning “a howling owl”. This nocturnal bird was always believed to be magical and demonic. According to a Roma legend, “living strigoi” are witches destined to turn into vampires after their death. At night, their souls can fly to a Sabbath and drink blood of humans and cattle. And no advances of modern civilization are enough to convince locals otherwise.
In different parts of the world they are given different names: shamans, clairvoyants, sorcerers, healers, wizards, sorcerers, elders. This program is dedicated to people with mystical powers, which have no logical explanation.
