The fat acceptance movement, body positivity, Health at Every Size… whatever you may refer to it as, we are all aware that this extreme trend of normalizing and celebrating obesity is a toxic cult. HAES has roped in tons of influencers who are denying science and trying to convince everyone that they are entitled to controlling their opinions on their bodies.

Among the bloggers and tiktokers spreading these harmful ideas and misinformation is the infamous Virgie Tovar, who many have seen floating around on social media… often in videos mocking her absolutely insane ideas on fatness and skinny people alike. Unfortunately, some people never grow out of their bitterness towards those who hurt them in the past, and so they turn to an online space in order to surround themselves with those who agree with them and filter out anyone who disagrees with a single click of the block button. Virgie lives in a rose-tinted world where being fat is an amazing thing, where health doesn’t correlate with weight, and where all of those popular high school kids who bullied her have nothing on her, and today we are going to look into this fantasy world from the harsh world of reality that she’s pretending doesn’t exist.
