[ Ссылка ] [ Ссылка ] Today's demo is for a tonal study of a fishing boat in a dry dock, focusing on simplifying the scene and reducing it to tonal values using 2 colours, sepia and indigo. I ask the question 'what is more important, tonal value or colour, or are they both equally important'? I argue that in my opinion value is the most important thing when painting, but it is of course, just my opinion, I look forward to finding out what you think in the comments below!
I used Davidson's Pigments in indigo and sepia, these are not yet available at the time of posting as they are still undergoing tests. You can of course use any colour for this, and any brushes that you are comfortable with, My paper is 100% cotton Saunders Waterford, cold pressed, 11" x 15"/28cm x 38cm. Thanks for watching, and happy painting!
