'De Motu Cordis’ for solo percussion is inspired by the revolutionary essay about circulation by William Harvey. His observations led the way in a new way of thinking about the human body - one directional blood flow.
The plethora of sounds caused by the beating heart and blood flow are echoed on the percussion instruments via some interesting and unusual musical techniques.
Commissioned by City Music Foundation for the 900th Anniversary of St Bart’s Hospital.
