HARD BLOCKAGE TEST
A hard blockage of the chain conveyor is a serious event during longwall operation. If it happens it can easily break the chain. The inertia of fast rotating motors and drives will destroy the weakest link – the chain.
A chain break will stop your operation for hours, even days and results in significant costs due to lost coal production and repairs.
The new HBT High Torque Drive System HTD4100 (in development) was designed to NOT BREAK the chain.
