(Currently, I only make videos for Atlantic systems. Since Bonnie only achieved tropical storm status in the Atlantic, that is how the storm is marked here.)
Tropical Storm Bonnie was a moderate tropical storm that produced gusty winds and heavy rainfall as it tracked through the southern Caribbean Sea. Although it could not yet be classified as a tropical cyclone, due to the threat the system posed to the Lesser Antilles, the National Hurricane Center initiated advisories on it as Potential Tropical Cyclone Two on June 27.
On the morning of July 1, it became sufficiently organized to be classified as a tropical storm and was given the name Bonnie. At 03:00 UTC on July 2, Bonnie made landfall near the Costa Rica–Nicaragua border. The storm crossed Central America and exited into the Eastern Pacific basin 12 hours later.
Bonnie is the earliest Atlantic-Pacific crossover storm in recorded history.
