In kidney disease the fluid management is very difficult because some of them will have a residual urine function where they may excrete some amount of urine as in the form of whatever they consume as the water. But most of the patients have to restrict fluids on dialysis because the fluid accumulation and the salt restriction is the main cause for hypertension in these patients. Hence fluid restriction is a must and as well as the amount of fluid is they increase 105 of their body weight, certainly can cause problems like breathlessness or pulmonary oedema or sometimes a swelling on their feet as well which will cause an uncomfortable experience to them. Definitely we need to restrict fluid on patients on a dialysis.
