Video of the Dupont O Scale 2-rail layout as featured at the O Scale West convention 2017. This video highlights an extremely detailed Circus Train pulled by a GS-4 Daylight and a 2-8.0.
Dupont's layout is an 2-rail O Scale layout built by Dexter Day for the late Bob Dupont in California. The layout models the Tall Pine Timber Co. and is comprised of a 17' x 19' fully sceniced O Scale layout combined with an On3 narrow gauge layout.
With a group of volunteers, we restored it to working condition for showing as part of the O Scale West convention; it was on display this May 2017.
This extremely detailed layout was featured in RMC, MR, The Gazette, OSN, OSR, OST, NMRA Bulletin, Coast Dispatcher, PCR Branchline, & Great Model Railroads. Bob started model railroading in 1956, started this layout in 1976, has held many NMRA offices, including National President, and has chaired two National NMRA conventions.
As part of the open house, we ran Bob Dupont's Southern Pacific engines and his extremely detailed Circus Train. Dexter provided a vast collection of Northern Pacific steam engines to run.
The O Scale Circus Train is pulled by Southern Pacific #4449 (GS-4 Daylight) and Southern Pacific #2852 (2-8-0 Consolidation).
