"Like everybody else, I sit back and yawn at Marvel movies regurgitating comic book stories that we’ve seen a thousand times because they’re the only way studios feel like they can make money," he expressed. "I want to be a solution; I want to do something about it. So I’m using every bit of leverage that I have to create new, compelling stories. That’s my mission."

However, when it comes to Batman, Ritchson's tone changes. He expressed enthusiasm about the role, dismissing rumors with a playful nod to the Caped Crusader's iconic status. "With all the rumors flying that I’m supposed to be playing Batman, how can I knock Batman? I would love to play Batman," he remarked in a December interview. Drawing comparisons between Batman and his own character in "Reacher," Ritchson noted the distinctions, highlighting Batman's wealth and resources.

In recent days, Ritchson found himself embroiled in controversy following comments about law enforcement during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. After being criticized by the National Fraternal Order of Police for his remarks regarding accountability, Ritchson responded on Instagram, expressing concern about the handling of peaceful disagreements and emphasizing the importance of dialogue and understanding.
