Hello everyone, welcome back to another video.
I'm sure most, if not all of you, have by now seen or at least heard of the Dev Ex crisis going on in row blox. Some of you may not know what it means, or even what Dev ex is, or what the situation is trying to overcome or solve. Today I'm going to be briefly going over the situation as a whole, without getting too specific, and breaking down what row blox is current situation with their developers and Dev Ex is and what it means.
Before we get into the video, i'll break down what Dev Ex even is and where this protest began. dev ex is the row bucks to U.S. dollar conversion for developers. Developers who earn at least fifty thousand row bucks can cash out their earned row bucks for real money. Currently, the conversion rate is a hundred and seventy five U.S. dollars for every fifty thousand robux, which is only thirty five percent of the robux conversion rate when buying robux for real money. In addition, this protest began with BIG GAMES and Preston, who owns and created many popular games like Pet Simulator X, Big paintball, and several other popular games that have gained tons of visits and likely earned millions, if not more, of row bucks for the group itself.
Time to dive into the situation. Firstly, many of you by now who use the row blox website have probably seen ads saying hashtag raise dev ex, lower dev ex, or maybe even remove dev ex. Ads like these are currently overthrowing the ad usage themes, to the point where most people are mostly seeing only ads related to dev ex. These ads are being made by a variety of different users and groups, and most, if not all, of these ads don't lead to games or groups that are even somewhat related to the dev ex protest. Most all of the ads saying hashtag lower dev ex, or hash tag remove dev ex, are probably troll ads and aren't seriously protesting, or just trying to get clicks on their ads.
So, what does all of this mean, and why are so many people seriously making ads saying hashtag raise dev ex? Well, as I already said, the amount of money the developers get back compared to the amount of money spent to buy the amount of robux they cash out is only thirty five percent, meaning that row blox still makes sixty five percent profit off of row bucks cashed in by these developers. while this may not sound too bad to some, this is a massive loss for larger developers on the platform, such as BIG GAMES, who likely makes millions, if not billions, of robux every year, which all adds up, likely causing them to miss out on tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. raising the dev ex rate even a small amount could mean tens of thousands or more money earned when cashing out earned row bucks for real money though dev ex. this is exactly what ads saying hashtag raise dev ex are trying to get at, and why you are seeing so many ads about it.
And that's the general breakdown of the whole dev ex situation. hopefully this helps anyone who is wondering what all of this means, and what the entire protest is trying to achieve out of all of this. if you enjoyed this video, please consider liking it, to help the video reach more people who have the same questions you did. subscribing would also be appreciated, though it's obviously up to you. hopefully you enjoyed the video, have a nice day.
