I don't usually use a brush when painting silk scarves with alcohol inks. However, in this video I used a round brush to outline some circles with the alcohol ink. Then, I added isopropyl alcohol (99%) to start spreading the inks and filling in the circles..

When I'm done painting, I let the silk dry. Then, to help set the color, I soak it in vinegar and iodized salt and when that's dry, I iron it with a steam iron. Often, I will repeat this step a 2nd time.
