Probably not the recipe you wanna see on the HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR so far 😅 but I’ve been neglecting you recently, and there’s a pregnant woman out there who demanded I share this recipe!
I file this dish under the ‘comforting home cooking meals’ that you associate with childhood. Not at all difficult or even remotely complex in flavour; just a simple home cooked meal.
What makes all the difference ... butcher meat. I get mine from @donald_butchers. Trust me, when you have a dish with so few ingredients - buy excellent quality and your taste buds will thank you for it.
I chop mine up into little bite size pieces and then eat it with a spoon 😂 talk about being transported back to childhood ...

Ingredients
- beef links sausages
- square sausages
- 3 x brown onions
- 3 x carrots
- 1 x tsp mixed herbs
- 1 x tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- bisto gravy granules
- potatoes (+ butter and milk/cream if you want to make mashed potato)
- peas (any green veg)
- 1 x beef stock cube (optional)

Tips
- you can use link sausages, square sausages or a mixture of both
- if you want to add the stock pot, mix it with the boiling water and then add
- I cooked my stewed sausage for approx 40mins
- season to taste at the end
