The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center presented 16 New Jersey firefighters with the prestigious Valor Award and honored more than75 additional firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians during the 31th Annual Valor Awards held on October 25, 2018.

Each year, The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas, New Jersey’s only certified burn treatment facility, recognizes firefighters, policemen, and additional health care professionals from throughout New Jersey for their heroic endeavors on and off the line of duty. Honorees are nominated by respective departments and selected by a committee of peers.

The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, the only state-certified burn treatment facility in New Jersey, is equipped to treat pediatric through geriatric burn patients with a full range of specialized services, including a dedicated outpatient department where individuals with small or minor burns receive treatment and discharged patients return for follow-up care. In addition, The Center’s educational programs teach burn awareness, prevention and fire safety to thousands of people of all backgrounds throughout the state of New Jersey.
