On her way to New Zealand, the ship's company of the guided missile frigate HMAS Darwin took the opportunity to perform Officer of the Watch manoeuvres.
HMAS Darwin is sailing to the Kaikoura region on the South Island, New Zealand to provide Humanitarian and Disaster Relief support following a 7.9 magnitude earthquake on 14 November 2016.
At the request of the New Zealand Government, HMAS Darwin will use her embarked S-70B-2 Seahawk helicopter to evacuate civilians and distribute disaster relief supplies.
