This third video covers making the special parts, the assemly and the initial testing of the mill column and Z axis ball screw drive.

The column is highly modified and uses ball slides in place of the original dovetail ways and a large ball screw and industrial AC servo motor for actuation.

For the first time, some of the design criteria and decidion making process are explained as well as one method of measuting the ball screw alignment.
