Setting up studio monitors. 🤯
Thanks to @focal.professional for sending me these beautiful Alpha EVO monitors. Can’t wait to get my first mix in on them.
1. Choose the right spot: Find a flat, vibration-free surface to place your studio monitors on and make sure they are at ear level.
2. Distance matters: Maintain an equilateral triangle between you, the monitors and the sweet spot, which is where the best sound is heard.
3. Connect your monitors: Connect your monitors to your audio interface using balanced XLR or TRS cables.
4. Calibrate your monitors: Use a test tone generator to calibrate your monitors to the correct volume level and adjust the room acoustics with foam pads or bass traps.
5. Test and adjust: Play a variety of music and listen carefully to ensure there’s no clipping, distortion, or booming bass. Make any necessary volume and frequency adjustments.
6. Repeat: Check your setup regularly and make tweaks as needed to ensure accurate sound reproduction.
