For decades, foods high in cholesterol like eggs and shrimp have been vilified as clogging arteries. But research shows that for around 75% of healthy adults, dietary cholesterol has minimal impact on blood levels. In our recent study, people who tripled their cholesterol intake saw a rise in total cholesterol of only 5 mg/dL on average, an increase that was not clinically nor statistically significant. 👉 [ Ссылка ]
Incredible isn't it? So why is that?
It comes down to cholesterol regulation in the body. When we eat cholesterol-rich foods, the liver to cuts back production to keep levels balanced. So after eating an egg, your liver makes less cholesterol that day.
However, some people are more sensitive to dietary cholesterol, experiencing more elevated blood cholesterol in response to high intake. For the majority, saturated and trans fats influence blood cholesterol far more than dietary sources. Genetics, diet patterns, and other lifestyle factors also play a major role.
