The various Palace home video labels commenced in 1984. It was a joint venture between Village Roadshow (VR), Blake Films, and a private investor named Antony Veccola.
The label released everything from G-rated kids movies (e.g. The Magic of Lassie, Legend of Hiawatha, Dunderklumpen, etc), to arthouse (e.g. Pixote, Mystery of Oberwald, etc), to the less 'mainstream' titles acquired by VR (e.g. Lassiter, The Hotel New Hampshire, etc), as well as various exploitation and porn films acquired by Blake (e.g. Princess & The Call Girl, Insatiable, Bloodsucking Freaks, etc).
Zeccola bought out VR and Blake in 1985, and the opening logos eventually changed. Palace as a company has been operating since 1965, and Zeccola is still in the distribution business. It also runs a chain of cinemas.
