Webinar: Sea-Level Rise for the Coasts of California, Oregon and Washington: Past, Present, and Future, Dr. Phil Mote, Oregon Climate Change Research Institute
This is a recording of the July 24th C3 webinar cosponsored by the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute and the Climate Impacts Group.
Overview: The report for the National Research Council study "Sea-Level Rise for the Coasts of California, Oregon and Washington: Past, Present, and Future" was released on June 22 in 'pre-publication' form. You can download a pdf of the prepublication report at the NRC website for the study: [ Ссылка ]. Phil Mote served on the Report's Authoring Committee.
Speaker Info: Philip W. Mote is a professor in the College of Earth, Oceanic, and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University; director of the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute (OCCRI) for the Oregon University System; and director of Oregon Climate Services, the official state climate office for Oregon.
Sponsors: C3 is the Pacific Northwest Climate Change Collaboration, a federal inter-agency group that focuses on information sharing and integration of efforts across agencies, Landscape Conservation Cooperatives and Climate Science Centers. FWS is a founding member and leader in C3.
The Oregon Climate Change Research Institute based at Oregon State University, is a network of over 100 researchers at OSU, the University of Oregon, Portland State University, Southern Oregon University, and affiliated federal and state labs. In 2010 the Institute was named as the anchor institution for two federally funded regional climate science centers: The Department of the Interior's Pacific Northwest Climate Science Center and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Pacific Northwest Climate Impacts Research Consortium.
The Climate Impacts Group (CIG) is part of the Center for Science in the Earth System at the University of Washington's Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO) CIG engages in climate science in the public interest, working to understand the consequences of climate variability and climate change for the US Pacific Northwest (PNW). CIG's unique focus is on the intersection of climate science and public policy -- performing basic research aimed at understanding the consequences of climate fluctuations for the PNW, and promoting application of this information in regional decisions.
