Fish Curry without Coconut.
Any fish of your choice can be cooked this way.
Clean and cut fish into pieces. Apply salt and turmeric and set aside to get rid of the fishy odor. Then rinse and use for curry.
For grinding masala
Heat a pan and add 1 tbsp oil.
Add few methi seeds in a low flame and curry leaves and fry for few seconds.
Add 1 roughly chopped onion and 5 cloves of garlic.fry till raw aroma goes.
Add 2 tsp of red chili powder and 2 tsp coriander powder and roast for a minute in a low flame.
Switch off flame and allow it to cool add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and grind fine paste.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a clay pot.
Add curry leaves, 3 slit green chilies, 1 finely chopped onion and fry till onion is soft.
Add ground masala paste and fry for a minute in a low flame.
Add masala water and adjust gravy consistency.
Add salt as per taste and tamarind pulp, 1 chopped tomato, mix well and bring curry to a boil.
Add fish pieces, stir gently coat fish pieces with gravy cover cook for two to three minutes and let the fish cook.
Stir gently and switch off flame.Fish curry is ready.
This fish curry is better served after 30 minutes of preparation.
Enjoy this fish curry with hot steamed rice.
