Which bassplayer doesn’t recognize the (very) high note in the Chorus of this song! Please go to bar 25 to listen to this lick.
This song has got a really steady groove!! In the Verse Lenny plays the second eight note on the second count and he plays a sixteenth note on the second count in the Chorus. It might look like a small difference, but in ‘the feel’ of the groove it makes a lot of difference. Listen to the difference for instance in bar 9 versus bar 22.
And there’s a very fast lick in bar 48. I think the best way to do this is to strike the triplets on the first note with your right hand and then pull of the next two notes with your left hand (on the second, third and fourth triplet in this lick). An other nice lick is in bar 79, check it out!
