Yes, you can. Once a person is indicted in federal court and arrested, or surrenders - once a person is arrested on warrant in federal court, they’re supposed to be taken immediately before a United States Magistrate judge to determine whether the person is suitable for release, or not. The magistrate judge will conduct a hearing to determine whether the person is a flight risk or a danger to the community. In situations where somebody is charged with a non-violent crime, or a white-collar crime, usually bail is quite reasonable. Many people get an unsecured bond, where they are able to be released without having to put up money.
The exception to that, usually, is the drug case. The way the federal laws are written, if someone is charged with a drug crime, for whatever reason, the person is presumed to be a danger to the community. That’s a presumption that can be overcome, legally, but in real terms it is very difficult to get somebody out on bond who’s charged with a federal drug crime.
