Scientific research into phages, viruses that kill drug-resistant bacteria, could benefit livestock farming and eventually drive change into the treatment of people. Funded by farmers and coordinated by AHDB Pork, the research has focused on pigs and is a significant development in the care of animals as concerns grow over the use of antibiotics.
