How to sharpen a convex edge with sandpaper. This is one way that I will sharpen the edge on my convex edged knives. Patience is key, once you get the burr formed, flip to the other side until one is formed. You can mark the edge of the blade with a black felt marker to help guide you with setting the proper angle for the grind. I usually just do it by feel. It is very easy to do but until you get that initial burr formed you may not be sure at how well the sharpening process is going until you’ve done it on a few knives to get the feel for it. The knife I am sharpening today is a Bark River Mini Kephart in 3V steel
