Surgery for Bosnian VP after serious accident
Bosnian Vice President Ejup Ganic underwent surgery in the
Croatian town of Split on Friday (30/6) for injuries sustained in
a car accident in southern Bosnia. Ganic, Vice-President of the
collective Bosnian presidency and of the Muslim-Croat Federation,
suffered injuries to the head and stomach and fractured arm and
thigh bones in the accident, which occurred near the town of
Capljina in a Croat-held part of southern Bosnia. According to the
Croatian news agency HINA, Ganic's car went off the road and hit a
concrete wall. A hospital spokesman said Ganic was in stable
condition after the surgery but his recovery could take some time.
