Totally tubular, dude!
If you grew up loving the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons, figures, games, and movies, then you're going to love this figurine. Even if you didn't and you're a new TMNT fan, this is still one figure you're going to want to own. The detail and articulation throughout this figure is excellent. The included sewer cover base plate is an added bonus (each Turtle has his own name written on the plate he comes with). I also love the size of these "Classic Collection" figures compared to my original 1980's collection. The added height really makes them come alive and stand apart.
With all of the articulation on this figure and the increased size over the standard TMNT action figure lines, it's definitely geared towards the collector who wants to put it on display. However, it's still a very well-built figure, and I expect it should hold up well for anyone who wants a super-detailed yet classic-looking TMNT figure for playtime. I tried to cover most of the major articulation points in the video, but I know there are some I missed (such as the ankles' ability to rotate side-to-side as well as up and down). So just realize that these figures are VERY posable - even moreso than what I show in the video.
Mine did come with extremely stiff shoulder joints right out of the box. It took quite a bit of pushing and pulling to get them moving, and I was a little concerned I was going to damage the joint just below the shoulder ball as I was gradually increasing the amount of force I was having to use. But they finally came free, and they've worked fine ever since.
It's not enough of an issue to warrant knocking down its recommendation rating, though, especially since the figure moves and poses perfectly now. Highly recommended for anyone who is a fan of the original TMNT cartoons and movies, as this line of figures is one of the best recreations of that TMNT generation to ever be released.
