The first time I saw the Grand Canyon, I was 16 years old. I would never have imagined that someday I’d have the opportunity (and ability) to hike down to the very bottom with a backpack full of everything needed for two nights of camping.

My good friend, Alex, planned the trip, and we were joined by her friend, Savannah. The three of us had an unforgettable backpacking experience (it was Alex’s first!) - we hiked down South Kaibab Trail, camped at Bright Angel Campground, then hiked to camp at Havasupai Gardens, and finally hiked the rest of the way up Bright Angel Trail to reach the south rim again.

This video is long, but features wading in the Colorado River, many lizards and frogs (including Gus), a breathtaking evening hike, some very serious yoga, and of course views upon views. Creekfoot, Croaky, and Lecko forEVER.
